Jacinda's 40th 1/23-1/25

My cousin Jacinda turned 40 this weekend.  Emily and I drove up on Friday night after work and school.  I made her stay awake and talk to me the whole drive up.

Her husband Tom booked her party at the pool hall where they had their first date (At least that is what I am recalling.  It was a place that they had been to before).  He reserved several pool tables.

We had a great weekend and look forward to returning again to hang out with Jacinda and her family.

My brother's kids came to stay with us this weekend.  My brother took his wife to Las Vegas for her 40th birthday, so we had his kids and the dog.  

Being that it was January, it rained a fair amount while they were here.  We wanted to get all the kids out of the house, so we found a Groupon for bowling and off we went.

After bowling and playing air hockey, we tortured the kids by making them go on errands with us.  After that we took them out to dinner and then home.  

Long-Term Sub Job

I had a long-term sub job for the month of January in a 1st grade classroom.  It was a wonderful experience and I learned a lot.  The students would often given me notes.  These were some of my favorites that I snapped photos of. (Sorry that they are upside down and sideways)

I'm particularly fond of this one.  I wonder what the yellow is supposed to be?
