Haircut at Bombshell Salon

I've tried long hair, shortish hair, and in-between hair.  I've never been happy with any of the styles.  While I like when my hair best when it is long, I have found that over the years it has thinned out and so it looks pretty scraggly.  I went to Katie at Bombshell Salon and we talked about what would look best for my hair and the thinning issue.    

Here's what she came up with...it looks amazing!  Feels amazing!  She made it so that when I style it, it actually feels like I have more hair.  The woman is a genius!

Valentine's Garland

My friend Kalina challenged me to make her a heart garland.  

She was hoping I could crochet it.  We looked on Pinterest and 

found an idea that was similar to this.  We changed it until it

was what she wanted.  I finally finished it on Valentine's day!

I love the way it turned out, so I made one for myself!  

Granted, I did not finish it until the end of February.  

Guess I'll get a picture of it next year! :)

Lauren's 6th Grade Basketball Season ended on 2/14/15

This picture was taken before the first game of the season in December.  

It was an 8 am game with warm ups at 7:45 am

After one the of games they do a 5th quarter where the parents play each other and the kids ref the game.  Scott played in the 5th quarter.

The theater department did a great job and we all enjoyed ourselves (even Scott!).

Lauren's Haircut

Last week Lauren was supposed to be cleaning her room.  I realized it had gotten really quiet in her room so I went to check on her.  I discovered she was cutting her own hair.

That night I snapped this picture so I could send it to Scott.  She claimed she was cutting the split ends off of her hair. 

Here is her before picture.  We went to Bombshell Salon.  Katie did a fabulous job taking hair that had been hacked and giving her a new look.

Here is the after. She was very happy with it.  I really hope we have learned our lesson and won't be cutting our hair again.  (Problem is, this is like the third or fourth time she has cut her own hair!)

Ashly's Baby Shower

My cousin Ashly is expecting a baby next month.  Her sister Anastasia hosted a shower at her home in Seattle.  Lauren and I made the trip up on Saturday morning after her basketball game and stayed with Jay and Anastasia.  We helped do some of the prep for the baby shower.  We went out for dinner to a Thai restaurant near their house.  The food was fantastic!  Lauren's favorite part was how we got to sit.  They had sofa type seating so she was able to lay back and lounge while we waited for dinner.
