Sewing Projects

The girls and I spent some time working on sewing projects.  I sewed all the time as a little girl and want them to have some basic skills.  We struggled with finding the time to do it.

Sewing Projects

I saw an idea months ago that I wanted to try. Cut Off Jeans With Fabric Hem and Side Knot. I liked the idea,  but I modified it slightly since my girls are older.  Instead of just cutting the legs off of a holey pair of jeans, you could add a fabric cuff and dress up the new shorts.  I decided to try it on several pairs of ratty jeans the girls had.  I left them choose the fabric.

The other project I had been wanting to sew was a lunch bag.  I'm pretty particular about my lunch bags.  I had been reusing a plastic bag, which just felt tacky.  I wanted a nice lunch bag, however it needed to be fully washable and not just wipeable.  I found this pattern(Lunch Bag Pattern) and went for it.  It is yet to be seen as to whether or not it is functional, but it  appears to be and I love the fabric and how it turned out!

Bowling & Dinner

We had bought a Groupon for bowling and realized we needed to use it sooner than later or we would not be able to since I have surgery coming up.

Part way through the time we were there they changed to Cosmic bowling.

After bowling we went out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant.  Since it was a nice afternoon, we opted to sit outside.  Maybe we shouldn't have?

Moving The Hot Tub!

We had friends who no longer wanted the hot tub they had in their backyard.  We finally got around to making space in our yard and getting it out of theirs.  Here's just a little peak into how we got it moved.

A few dollies, straps, plywood, and lots of muscles got it moved.

And a flatbed truck.
