As soon as I see the crocuses, I know that spring will soon be here. It is such a welcome sight!

Murder Mystery Dinner-Totally Rad 80s Prom Gone Bad
Scott and I decided to participate in my work's murder mystery dinner. We were given roles and had to dress the part. Scott had it very easy. He needed to dress like a rocker. Once we got him a mullet wig he was all set. I had a little more difficulty finding an outfit so I decided to make one.
I started with a basic black dress.
I then took two other outfits and cut them apart so I could sew ruffles on the black dress.
Once the ruffles were done, I added bows.
I was nominated for Prom Court so I needed a sash.
I don't have a much hair as I used to, so it was hard to get a lot of height on my bangs!

Maddie and Sam's Wedding
We were invited to Maddie and Sam's wedding. Maddie and Sam go to our church and volunteer as leaders for youth group. Maddie is also Lauren's small group leader. The wedding was beautiful. Getting pictures (good ones) of our family proved to be difficult.
These two photos are great of Scott and I (however, look at Lauren in the background!)

Cosmic Sledding With The Cousins
My Aunt and Uncle asked Lauren and I to go Cosmic Sledding with them and our cousins. We went to Mt. Hood Ski Bowl and went Cosmic Sledding for two hours. Cosmic Sledding is sledding with lights and music.

Our hot chocolate was too hot to drink so we dug holes in the snow and called it our "Ice Fridge"

Date Night
My brother and his family wanted to have the girls over so they could go cosmic tubing with their cousins. Scott and I dropped them off in Vancouver then we went out to dinner at Casa Del Matador on NW 23rd in Portland.
The food was delicious and after dinner we walked up and down 23rd. It was a beautiful evening for January and the weather was cooperative.

Snow and Ice Storm 2016
Yesterday we awoke to snow.

Our house in the snow
The snow had stopped by mid-morning. Later in the day, the freezing rain started. Last night, both Newberg and Dayton (and many others) School Districts called for a 2-hour delay.
This morning we were awoken at 6 am by an automated call from Newberg cancelling school today. About an hour later I got a call from one of my co-workers saying the call had been made and Dayton was being cancelled as well.

So icy!
By evening, all the snow and ice nearly melted. We are anticipating that everyone will be going to school tomorrow.
