Mount Shasta, California
This is a map that shows some of where we went. We stayed at the Tuscan Inn and walked everywhere we went.
Ashbury and Haight
We rode on a Historic Cable Car
Lombard Street-The Crookedest Street in the World
We enjoyed some delicious chocolate
We did a self-guided tour of the S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien. The ship is liberty ship from WWII. It is only one of two surviving. It was built in South Portland, Maine in 1943 and it participated in the Normandy invasion. We were able to see everything from the engine room to the flying bridge.
We went to the Wax Museum at Fisherman's Wharf
We went to the Boudin Bakery.
We went on the SF Explorer Cruise. It was a 90 minute cruise that traveled along the waterfront, into McCovey Cove by the Giants Ballpark, under the Bay Bridge, around Treasure Island, Yerba Buena Island, and past Alcatraz.
While in San Francisco, we met up with Scott's cousin Kristin who lives there. While we were there his other cousin Gina (Kristin's sister) and her friend Jan had flown in from Pennsylvania. We had the opportunity to have dinner and drink and walk around the town.
We visited the Aquarium of the Bay.
We ended our trip by going on the Golden Gate Bay Cruise-Red and White Fleet. This was a 1-hour cruise that went along the North Beach shoreline past Aquatic Park, Hyde Street Pier, and the ships of the National Maritime Historic Park. It sailed directly under the Golden Gate Bridge.
The only problem with the cruise was that as we departed, the sky was clear, however as we went towards the bridge, the fog rolled in.
Directly under the bridge
Heading home.
