George Meade

As we were in a ranger talk, we heard thunder in the distance and we had to cut short the talk, which meant we didn't get to see as many landmarks, but we stood with the ranger near the parking lot and he talked about the battle some more.

After the ranger talk, we left and went to the Battlefield Harley Davidson's.

After that, we went to Little Round Top.  "Quick action by Brig. Gen. Gouverneur K. Warren, Meade's chief engineer, alerted Union officers to the Confederate threat and brought Federal reinforcements to defend this position" at Little Round Top.

Can you see the storm looming in the distance?

Peach Orchard- "The Union line extended from here to Devil's Den and angled northward on Emmitsburg Road.  Federal cannon bombarded Confederate forces crossing the Rose Farm toward the Wheatfield unntil about 6:30 pm, when Confederate attack overran this position."

Still stormy out.

After we finished at the battlefields, we headed off to Friendly's for some ice cream, because that is what Dad, Mom, and Lauren did after their last time at Gettysburg.
